I bought this to use my Sony A5100 camera as a webcam. It didn't disappoint! Works flawlessly. My camera had a micro HDMI output so I had to buy a micro HDMI to regular HDMI cable. Then I connect a regular HDMI cable to the capture device, which plugs into one of your computer's USB ports. If you use recording software, make sure it is installed on your camera for it to work. For my Sony A5100 camera I had to set the HDMI output settings to not show camera overlay settings. This will give you a cleaner result. You should also play with your camera's settings for auto focus etc. This device is clearly designed to display every output from your camera directly. So take the time to set up your camera properly. I recommend getting an AC adapter for your camera. With constant use of the camera, the batteries do not last long. Overall, the price and ease of use make this a great purchase!
