Review on Enhanced CableCARD Receiver: Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 Dual Tuner by Chad Boho

I first bought a Hauppauge WinTV DCR-2650 Dual Tuner Cable TV on March 2nd, 2012 and it was the easiest setup I've come up with in my 35 year old experience with a computer. I used to install various tuner cards and didn't like the process. However, it was exactly as advertised and completed in about 10 minutes, including a call to Comcast. (I received the card from my local (Vermont) Comcast office with no problems.) It's been working great ever since. Well, a few weeks ago I thought four tuners would be more boring than two. Instead of spending about $200 or more for a box with four or six tuners, I tried duplicating the box with the box I had for $94 more. The first one that arrived was defective and was returned. Revain received a refund the business day after I submitted the return. (Surprised, pleased and grateful.) There was a small problem with the technician I asked to get my line signal up to standard. He did but thought he was doing me a favor by installing the box. It's a long and sad story. (If anyone ever switches your cable cards between different devices, make sure they understand the concept of "host ID".) So I got it out of the house, got all the numbers assigned to the right devices and cards are called Comcast. , Activated Cards and Bingo!. All tuners, maps, channels and functions work perfectly and I'm happy as a pig in the dirt. All the necessary information is included in the installation sheet and installer that you need to obtain from the Hauppauge website. [.] Most important is RTFM before you begin.
