Review on Super Talent Pico-C Gold USB 2.0 Flash Drive, 4 GB: STU4GPCG by Michael Zambrano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wish I could afford ten of these. Up to three is enough.

I confess I love very small, bright, shiny things and these are the brightest, shiniest and smallest USB sticks you will find. I have 8GB and 16GB and about five minutes later I grab another 16GB drive when I return to my cart. You can carry them around on your keychain and no one will even notice that you're an absolute geek with a bag full of flash drives! Instead you have these little shiny metal rectangles that could be some kind of art or something. The discs themselves are virtually indestructible. I mean, I suppose a sledgehammer could do it, but otherwise you can drool on it, sweat it, spit on it, or dip it in your coffee and it will still work when you plug it into the computer. You can sit on it and maybe even step on it at low speeds without hurting it. The only downside I see with this drive is that it may be too small for some. I keep mine all on a clip that stays on my purse chain so I always know where they are, but if you don't clip them to something they can easily disappear. I suspect it might be just as fun for a cat to watch as it is for me. They get hot during data transfer, but that's the case with any USB stick - most others are insulated with all that big, ugly plastic. Edited to add: I should note that I've used these drives almost exclusively with a MacBook Pro and have never had a problem getting my computer to see them. Mac computers should be able to read all types of drives formatted in FAT32. Reformatting can resolve issues that may indicate the drive was not properly formatted at the factory. With mass production, it is not surprising that some loafers are sold. However, I just got my new 16GB drive (with a deep gray silver finish that's even more enticing than the light silver ones) and it appeared on my desktop as soon as I plugged it in. And this is the truth. it's a tight fit. To be honest it looks like quality to me; cheap things rattling around. USB connectors may also differ in actual specifications. I personally love the sturdiness of this small, huge storage space. So I still can't think of anything to complain about. I currently carry a library of over 500 books in my watch pocket; Soon I will add some photos and films. What do you have to lose? Well, now you can carry it around on a tiny piece of shiny metal. Or more. I recommend several.
