My hesitation in purchasing this toaster was due to reviews that said the toaster smelled awful. Since I liked everything else, I decided to take a chance. As soon as it arrived I immediately plugged it in and ran a toast cycle with nothing on it to see if I felt anything. It was such a faint smell and I haven't smelled it since the first cycle. I have used the toaster at least a dozen times since buying it. Not only does it NOT smell, it toasts great and the toaster looks great in my white kitchen! I am very happy with my purchase!
