I bought this speaker to replace the original Jensen in my '61 Gibson GA 5. I had to check very carefully to be certain the 8 ohm was the correct model, and it was and is. 1961 was right on the cusp of the amplifier manufacturers switching from 4 to 8. I put the speaker in on a Friday evening, and I am most impressed with the sound. Very good mids and uppers, decent bottom.it is, after all, an 8 inch speaker. If you make the change, keep the old Jensen and store it in the box the new Jensen used. I think you'll like the sound of this speaker. It rarely happens, but this is new and improved.
