I bought this speaker to replace the original Jensen in my '61 Gibson GA 5. I had to check very carefully to be certain the 8 ohm was the correct model, and it was and is. 1961 was right on the cusp of the amplifier manufacturers switching from 4 to 8. Bought this as a replacement speaker project on an old practice amp (Peavey Audition 20). I had to look in the manual to double check that it was the right size and impedance (4 ohm). Relace an 8 ohm 8-inch Orange "voice of the world" white lable stock speaker in a sealed 8" combo from Orange, the Crush 20rt. Previously there was a stuffy/boxy tone that managed to reflect out from the stock speaker. The jensen c8r-8 seems to have tamed that at moderate/bedroom volumes. Addionaly, the stock tone was a more modern mid and bass heavy, with a little something missing from the detail/headroom. Using two of these with a Mesa Mark 5 25 - all tube , great amp. Unfortunately these speakers are not cutting it - at the point of breakup there's a nasty crackling kind of sound, instead of smooth distortion - I A/B 'd it with a 2X12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30's - no such harsh noises. I'm taking them out and replacing with Celestion 10s . I think the magnet is just too lightweight in the Jensens

I used this Jensen to make an extension cabinet for my Supro Supreme 1600 20W amp. This speaker perfectly compliments the full-throated sound I get from the Supro. I purchased the 8 inch, 8 ohm speaker for my Fender Champion 20 combo amp. It’s a direct fit, although I had to wire a wider female connector on one of the leads to fit the Jensen speaker connection. A little inconvenient, but not a deal breaker.The speaker sounds great and is a definite improvement over the stock speaker. Lots of old school tone and handles all the nuances I can dial in or play on my Telecaster.

Beautiful sounding speaker installed it in a vintage Airline model 62-9012a (very similar to a Tweed Champ 5F1) and it sounds awesome! Around 10 times better! If anyone is planning on getting this speaker go for it! I don't think you can get anything better around this price range

A fantastic upgrade for my Bugera V5 !I had already had the brightness and gain modified at an amp tech but still it felt a little flat and dark. This speaker completely opened the thing up and now it is a total vintage sounding tone machine and with gain and volume at max it does the most amazing Josh Homme esque drive 👌 brought a little more fuzz to the sound

I did a tube change on my Bugera V5 which was a definite improvement over the stock amp. The tone of the amp still wasn’t doing it for me. Consequently, I installed the Jensen Green 8” and BOOM she started to sound real pretty. An absolute no brainer people. Get ya some.

Before you buy have a look at the spade connectors on your stock Turbosound speaker. On mine the positive connection was a normal full size spade but on the negative it was a smaller spade. This Jensen comes with two standard size "large" spade connections so it won't connect right out of the box, which leaves you with a couple of options. buy some spade and modify the existing cable or purchase an aftermarket cable. I bought this to replace the speaker in a very old Fender guitar amplifier. I think it sounds better than the original. Very happy with this speaker.

Installed in my Monoprice Stage Right Champ clone and it's much beefier sounding. Totally worth it considering the cost.
