If you're looking for the cheapest version of something and then buy it, don't be surprised if it turns out to be crappy as hell. a camera so i can watch my older dog while she sleeps and i am in my office across from him. (I don't move it when I change rooms.) So I looked for simple, inexpensive, no-frills devices like most baby monitors and remote cameras. I just need to know when he wakes up. I was hoping that the price of this camera was due to its lack of frills, a mistake I think given the poor quality throughout. Setup was difficult. There will be error messages, but then something will work. And then they set me up. So great. A few days after it worked, it shut down. Couldn't find my network. The instructions are vague and poorly translated. I did everything I could to restore contact. What ultimately worked was that I repackaged it to return it. I still had the app open on my phone. When I turned off the camera, the app suddenly indicated that it was ready to search for the device. So I opened it up again, plugged it in, and then continued with the command prompts. And then the error message popped up and I swear all I did was try again and... it connected. It's almost entirely random whether it works or not. I just want to make sure my little old dog is safe. That's ridiculous. In any case. We're back in line. I can see and hear when my dog wakes up so I can follow him. If it doesn't work again, I'll just send it back. If you have a basic remote camera app, I understand you don't want to pay a lot. But still pay a little more, here is my offer. Technically it does the job. As long as it isn't. This can be a bigger problem than the money you save. Whether you have a child to look after, or you are using it for security or some other more important application where you really need to rely on the camera... I cannot recommend this model. The picture is grainy and the sound is hoarse. I just don't think it's reliable.
