Last year (oh, two years ago, so what?) when the weather started to change I started to worry about getting my tools wet . Not without reason it seems that once I had a decent digital hygrometer in my house I was appalled by the results. I actually bought two: one analogue and one digital. I spent about $30 on a perk. On a whim I decided to buy these little guys for my toolbox. I didn't think they would be very good, but I was wrong. They are almost the same as my more expensive digital hygrometer and are much more sensitive than the more expensive analogue hygrometer. I put a few in more expensive tool boxes and placed the rest in every room of the house. For example, they're consistently accurate when I place them in the same room, and I've found them to have very good accuracy. The batteries are button type and wear out fairly quickly, but I found them cheap to replace. If I had to do it all over again I would just buy them and skip the $30 trip to the hardware store. I really had no idea how dry my home's winter shade gets until I checked. I'm glad I checked when I did. To be honest, I had no idea at the time that moisturizing would help me so much personally. I expected my instruments to be fine, but it was also the first year I haven't been sick in a month since living in this house. I had no idea how much the air quality would affect me. Good tools that could carry over into 2020 when air quality seemed to be one of the things people were suddenly thinking about.
