I have extremely sensitive armpits and cannot use commercial antiperspirants as they all contain aluminum. I've tried so many natural deodorants I can't even list them all. I even made my own, which worked well but left my skin looking weird and gray. Most of them didn't even survive a day without leaving me smelly and nobody wants that. Of course, when I saw this in my local health food store, I was skeptical - which Flippin' deodorant lasts up to 7 days, seriously? Well, I bought this hoping it would last at least 24 hours and not cause my armpits to itch or look like zombie skin. The consistency is a bit off; It's a kind of paste you use in kindergarten crafts but mixed with some wall putty. You only need a little as it spreads widely (which was a relief when I saw the size of the container). Showered as instructed (didn't shave that day), towel dried and applied a little under each arm - spread very thinly. It seems that white spots remain on clothes, but this is not so. A little hard to get out of my hands but give or take I guess. It doesn't have much odor, the little odor it has is slightly medicinal but not unpleasant, and it dissipates quickly. it was applied and none of the other online reviews or blogs had details about it. I was afraid that if I showered and shaved as usual, it would just go away and make me smelly again. But I threw caution to the wind and showered (with soap) and shaved as usual the next day. When I got out of the shower, I carefully dried my armpits and, despite what I'd been taught, I stopped putting on deodorant. I don't usually do any hard physical labor or intense (or otherwise) exercise, just regular house cleaning, grocery shopping, and the like. I have a sedentary job and my house is on one level so there are no stairs. I mention it because I can only attest to its effectiveness in my own worldly circumstances; I have no idea how long that will take for someone who is, for example, an avid runner or works in a foundry all day. Also remember this is NOT an antiperspirant, you might sweat it just won't smell bad. When using this product as my only underarm deodorant, it took several days of regular daily activity, normal daily showering and personal hygiene before I smelled the first whiff of a fragrance. After the first few weeks, I found that I was repeating myself less often. My applications are now 7-8 days apart. I don't reapply it until I wake up and smell a little armpit. I have been using Lavilin underarm deodorant cream exclusively for about 4 months and this is my first repeat purchase. I cannot fully recommend this product.
