I had one of these for years and it worked fine until the pulley failed so I ordered another. Although the hooks appear to be the same, one of them doesn't open wide enough to hook onto the stern eyelet at the back of the boat! The other barely opens wide enough. I sent it back and had the same problem when exchanging it. The stern eyes on the back of my boat are standard - the problem is whoever makes these hooks doesn't get them right anymore and checks them before they leave the factory. I would caution against buying trailers that use hooks like this and there are many. You can buy a strap with different types of hooks, but nobody makes one with a reel, and it doesn't work for a two-person camera.
