I bought a set of three round glass jars with a plastic lid and shiny metal inserts around the glass and on top of the lead. Aesthetically they look beautiful. They are the right size for tea or coffee. Arrived very well packaged, in a cardboard box with foam inserts that separate them and protect them from external agents. Made in China. When it comes to tea storage, airtightness is important as airtight containers keep the aroma inside. These containers are definitely not airtight. First, there is nothing in the design that could make them airtight. It is the plastic surface of the lid pressed against the glass rim of the jar that creates the seal. Neither the jug nor the lid are manufactured with sufficient precision to be airtight. The easiest way to check this is to fill them with water. Unscrew the lid, tilt the container to the side and watch the water pour out of the container. These aren't even small drops, but a continuous flow that indicates a significant gap. Two starts at best, for false advertising - there is no narrowing. This could be remedied by fitting a rubber grommet to the cover, but this was not done. I'm still debating whether to keep it or return it. It depends if I can find something better. I definitely like the size, not too big, not too small. Incidentally, to determine the volume, I filled one of these containers with water and weighed it with and without water. Its volume turned out to be 570 ml.
