iPhone not playable

I bought two of these. Tried both on different iPhones and iPads with different iOS versions (from v12.x to the latest version 13.3). GPS, music and calls work, but no other sound comes out of the speaker. This review will address some of my insights that I hope will help other buyers, especially iPhone users. NOT REALLY HANDS-FREE When the iPhone is connected, the built-in speaker is turned off. This means if you ask Siri to read a text message, ask about the temperature, etc., you won't hear a response through the speaker and you won't hear playback through the iPhone since it's disabled. Second, overcoming the above, I paired it with my phone to use it as a microphone and mini bluetooth speaker for playback - no luck. Note: When you do this, your music will play through the secondary Bluetooth speaker, but there's still no audio for questions like "Siri, what's the temperature," too bad. GPS PLAYBACK The second issue is the lag in GPS navigation playback. I bought one of them and both have lags. In all cases, about 1.5 seconds of each navigation display is regularly cut off. For example, "Turn left after 500" may be heard as "Turn left after 500 feet." After turning Bluetooth off, playing through iPhone, Jabra headset, and Soundcore mini speakers, playback was fine except for iPhone(s) or cellular as the culprit. 3 seconds to talk to Siri just doesn't have a fast response time and can be difficult. To be honest, I almost collapsed the more I fiddled and pressed/held the button (repeatedly) to ask Siri a question. In most cases, it took 5-10 seconds to press the button to alert Siri and get to the point where Siri was ready for voice input. It literally distracted from driving from such an aggravation. And a note to the manufacturers. Manufacturers seriously need to build in "active listening," an always-on mic, and drop the required 2-3 second button for the voice assistant. Drivers should be able to just say "Hey Google" or "Hey Siri" and ask for directions, read the last message from "Jane" or add things like a calendar reminder/appointment. Again, simply holding down the talk button can be distracting and very annoying. SOUND QUALITY The sound quality is good for calls. If you just want to make calls then this inexpensive thing is great, but only for that purpose. The speaker seems to have a high-pitched tone. When listening to a streaming talk show, the audio was just uncomfortable. I would suggest buying an extra Bluetooth speaker like the Soundcore mini and plugging it in to play music/podcasts. Yes, you can connect this device and a second Bluetooth speaker for playback. CONCLUSION I only recommend this device for making calls. If you want to play music, connect your phone to another speaker. Sellers should really provide the information as playback options are limited when paired with an iPhone. I'll try one brand: I'm using Jabra BT headphones and both mic and earphone playback work fine. I expected this product to do the same but with a less uncomfortable earbud. I expect this and other similar all-in-ones will have the same issues, which is why I ordered the Jabra Traveler. I assume if the Jabra headphones work then the Traveler should work for the visor. I really don't know if it's because iOS has a built-in profile for the Jabra brand, the way Jabra was designed, or both.
