Forge works great. While it's probably a good idea to use the included refractory cement to cover the kaovula, I don't think it's necessary if you have good ventilation. Caowul lined with refractory cement retains heat 1000% better than without, but laying refractory bricks limits how deep the bricks can sit as there is no longer a softer surface for the bricks to sit on, so this fills the space a little limiting, but as they say it's a personal preference and doesn't reflect the company or product. I would highly recommend this forge especially if you are new to blacksmithing and smithing.
