Review on Master Dynamic True Wireless Earphones by Brett Jarvis

A big step up from AirPods in sound quality!

I've only spent about 20 hours on this so far but wow what great sound quality from wireless headphones! I have a couple of above-average headphones (HD700, HE500, PM3, QC35, M50x, etc.), but I've lived with my Apple AirPods for portability. The sound quality was mediocre and I often listened in restaurants and cafes and would have liked more isolation than they provide. So, step by step, MW07. I bought them from BestBuy as soon as they were available to order. I know the $300 retail price might seem high to some, but if you typically hear a difference in sound quality, this is for you. I have used an Audeze PM-3 and a Bose QC35 for portable listening and have been very happy with them. I would put this MW07 next to Bose, but I really appreciate being able to have it in my bag at all times. Well, what about some downsides? I tend to sibilance at higher volumes (I had to tame the HD700, for example). I've found that I can't listen to over 1/2 sound with the stock earbuds with the stock music app (iPhone 6s+) for very long without getting tired. I replaced the tips with compliance tips, which helped a lot but didn't completely solve the problem. So if I want to hear something loud, I use the "Equalizer" audio player with a -3 dB rolloff at 6000 Hz (Q factor 0.8). This completely solves the problem for me.2. I think the biggest weakness of the MW07 is the battery life. Yes, the case can charge them multiple times, but I only listen for about 3 hours, after which I have to take a break to charge. I like them so much I just want to keep listening.3. The travel case is a fingerprint magnet. I assumed it would go to v.4. A few times I stopped the music and lost my left ear when it resumed. I put them back in the case for a second and then they're fine. Otherwise the Bluetooth connection seems to be stable.5. The connection quality is normal. Not great, not bad, just good. For the asking price I think this is a great buy if you value great sound quality AND portability. The highest praise I can give is that if I lost them I would buy another pair. No questions.

Pros
  • SOUND INSULATION: Tight, noise-isolating fit that makes it difficult to hear outside noise and conversations.
Cons
  • Something different
