Review on HarborCraft Stainless Aircraft Railing Balustrades by Danny Robertson

Great product for fencing systems

I bought this cable to use in an indoor fencing system. It is excellent value for money and works very well. It's ready to use once you get past the very short learning curve. Wear gloves and goggles (at a minimum) as the posts will shatter when cut. I used it indoors so can't rate it for the weather conditions but it's stainless steel and I expect it to work well. I actually have more than what I need for the first project and I might use the rest for an outside project. Basically I have no doubts to use it. I highly recommend that you contact your local building control authority during the planning phase to ensure this conforms to your local codes. But it's always a good idea. The bend radius is standard for a gauge, and the cable grips *well-formed* crimp quite well. You absolutely MUST invest in the tools required to cut and crimp cable glands. If you plan to use this in a fencing system, failure can be catastrophic. (Please, of course you don't want kids falling through the safety rails because you were too cheap to do it right.) I don't know the ratings for this cable and don't recommend it for critical structure applications. (e.g. hanging a bay window, etc.). It's great for hanging pictures or the like - although it's overkill for a cable of this size. But it will look cool! Note that you will need a few other parts for the railing. However, they are widely used - just research them first as these systems can be bloody expensive. Make sure you buy stainless steel fittings or you might run into corrosion issues later. This is a quality product that I enjoy using. I highly recommend it.
