Just received this so can't comment on durability etc but seems pretty solid, tip is a bit chunky, chuck is gritty but might just need to lubricated and little used. BUT the foot pedal control only has 3 speeds: off, slow and full speed, there is no rheostat functionality at all. at the point between slow and full speed it kind of switches between the two. I'll try to fix it myself or find a working pedal like an old sewing machine at a thrift store, but other than that it's a very limited product. And it can be really good. I really don't want to spend $40 to get a guaranteed working front pedal. Update: The pedal is definitely NOT user serviceable or adjustable, won't even try. Updated a month later: Customer Service has arranged for a replacement pedal to be sent. I really appreciate your quick and polite response. Unfortunately, the replacement has the same problem as the original. There is a kind of speed control up to a rather slow speed, then it goes at full speed. Useless for my work. The return window is closed so I'm stuck with my original plan of finding or creating a working controller. The foot pedal is simply defective as many commenters have pointed out, not just me. This company should really look into this and they will have a very good product.
