Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!

This valve was purchased in January 2018 to replace a 20 year old valve that finally failed. As others have said, knobs are rust free for 2 years (see picture). I live in Houston where we can get a hard frost or two every winter (not a harsh climate). However, I always take care of my sprinkler system. When I went to open the main line valve early in the Spring 2021 season, I noticed that my valve was leaking. Not knowing where it came from, I turned it off. We had a very rainy year in Houston so I didn't have to use the irrigation system. Since a recent storm destroyed the guardrail and ruptured the PVC fitting fed by my sprinkler system, I decided to address this issue before replacing a guardrail or PVC pipe. When I went to turn on the main water flow, the valve was shooting water EVERYWHERE!. Where I had just a small trickle at the start of the growing season, now a geyser flows out the back of the valve! How could the metal at the pivot of the main ball valve break like this long after freezing weather (see picture)? It's just a manufacturing issue. I need a new NEW valve but will not buy from this company again. I saw other negative reviews. The manufacturer did not answer any of them directly. Buyer Warning.
