Review on Classic Console Player - Advanced Handheld Gaming Console by Danny Kimble

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not the most reliable, but great for the price.

I've seen enough reviews of similar devices on YouTube and decided to pick up a pair, this one. It's only $30 for all the content, I can't give it a bad review. First, not very good: the screen on this thing is really small! I played a lot of Game Boy games on this console when it was new and even my old GBA has a bigger screen than this one. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out, not all games work that well; A small percentage of games lock up on this console and you have to turn it off and on again to continue playing. I was a little annoyed that Golden Sun is one of those problematic games, but then again, there are so many games on this console that it's easy to find something else. The build quality is also a little lame. The volume control roller is wobbly and its resistance value doesn't match the console's circuitry: it's either too loud or too quiet for my ears. The plastic body of the console looks fragile in some places. Now for the good news: this little guy has one key feature that almost all standard Game Boys didn't have: a backlit screen! It's so nice that you don't have to constantly tilt the console to get the best viewing angle for the screen. While I'm not happy with the small screen, this console is as portable as a Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Pocket, or Game Boy Color. Finally, the price again! That thing costs as much as some Game Boy Advance games used to cost! This is very important to me because, as you may have noticed, over the years I've amassed a collection of Game Boys that I still have. Even if I went to my local used game store (they're becoming a rarity these days!) and spent a few hundred bucks on old Game Boy Advance cartridges, my library still wouldn't match what's in this console, and no cassettes. necessary. Again, a new Game Boy Advance game like Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald at its best was worth it. So yes, the physical quality is a bit shaky. The quality of the software between games is a bit lame, and yes, the screen is small. But it gives you a massive library packed into something you can slip in your pocket. And as someone who's never really been into smartphone/tablet gaming, I'm more likely to risk losing it while traveling than one of my original Game Boys. So if you can save $30 and love Game Boy Advance games, get them, they're worth it in the end. some. Oh, how would I describe her. Games "modded" by fans such as Pokemon Quartz, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald "modified" by someone whose native language is not English. I don't find it disturbing and don't consider it additional content, but I found it worth mentioning.
