First of all, this split cake is SMALL. I included a picture with a quarter for scale. How much is 30 grams. So know that. It's small. If you know this before you buy, you won't be disappointed! I'm a complete novice mom. I just love having fun with my kids and their friends. Can't tell how it compares to super expensive brands because I've never used them. However, I like it very much. The colors are bright and creamy to the touch. It runs fine. There were no cracks or irritation on the skin. The colors look exactly like the product picture. Kids wore it for hours without fading, smudging or fading. The cracked cake is about an inch wide. it seems it lasts a long time. We've played with it a few times and I've used so little paint that it looks unused. Rainbow is a crowd pleaser. For the quality you get for the price, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys drawing faces. As I said, I'm no pro, but I think this would make a nice addition to any collection - whether pro or beginner. The only downside of professional face painting can be its small size.
