. I was looking for a water shoe that was almost like a sock but had enough protection so my feet wouldn't tear through the bottom of the pool at my condo. They were large, thick enough to serve as water shoes but not so bulky as to impede movement in the water. If you plan to use them in rivers or rocky lakes I would say they are too flimsy. The bottom offers enough protection, but not enough for rough terrain or even for very long standing on really hot pool surfaces. I can't comment on durability as I've only used it once. Although so far so good.
