I only applied them briefly, but 3M is a great adhesive so I have no doubt they will stay where I put them until intentionally removed . My problem is with the wire holder itself. They are too big for my app, it's my fault and I didn't scale down the stars because of that. However, if I had the correct size wire they are designed for, I don't see how you could slide the wire through the slot that allows the wire to be held. I mean my wire is too small for this holder and I was still having trouble fitting it into the holder. I used it to run a 5v power cable for a dash cam. I want the wire to be snug, but again it's my fault for not knowing the correct size. However, be careful if you have a larger wire and want to use it.
