Review on ๐Ÿ”ง PCS-10.2 Home Mechanic Bicycle Repair Stand by Park Tool: Essential Bike Maintenance Equipment by Michael Barrett

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The stand collapses under the weight of a NORMAL BICYCLE.

I bought this a few months ago hoping to make my cycling life easier. I bought this on purpose because it says it can hold 80 pounds. Well I've tried my heaviest e-bike at 62 pounds and indeed as others have mentioned it slides. So now I only use it with my regular bikes BUT it has dropped my mountain bike TWICE within a week of use and this mountain bike weighs no more than 35lbs. The first time he broke my bike's derailleur hangar costing $30 to replace, but the second time he completely messed up the rear chainline and rotor alignment. I didn't expect that from Park Tool products as I consider them to be the "best". Now that I think about it I would classify this product as "dangerous" because I was lucky not to be under the bike when I crashed, I can't imagine the scars a star would leave on my head or neck . Looking at this product I am very disappointed especially at this price as I was expecting quality. The only reason this product fails is the plastic parts, I had to choose between the old solid metal PCS-10 and this one and chose this one because of the clamp, ultimately a big mistake. Unfortunately, Park Tool is becoming like the new Sears brand where all the new stuff is cheap, overpriced plastic. I do not recommend buying this stand and being wary of anything new from Park Tools. I'm going to be on the hunt for "vintage" Park Tools now, just like some of us are on the good old Vintage Sears Tools.
