I don't understand why this product is on the market. This is simply the worst device I have ever used. I bought this popcorn maker as a birthday gift, read the instructions completely and then got to work. The problem with the product is the design: when the popcorn is ready and you need to turn the serving bowl over, the handles and therefore your hands are very close to the bottom of the serving bowl, the popcorn cooking plate. If your fingers slip a little, then BOOM, instantly burned fingers. Also, the instructions in pictures 5 and 6 don't even include a model with thumbtacks! There should be guidance on using oven mitts and perhaps an additional warning between steps 2 and 3 on the Using a Serving Bowl page. I have such great other Cuisinart home appliances that I'm surprised they didn't spend a little more money on the design to make the product safer. Not only am I writing this review because I am extremely dissatisfied with this product, I also want to warn other potential buyers of the dangers of this product. And if you've gotten this far reading my scathing review and are still determined to buy this popper if you have young children, please don't let them go near this thing.
