Very uneven tanning when using only one slit. In toast mode (NOT bagel mode), the inside of the toast turns out much darker than it should be for the setting you chose, while the outside stays many tones lighter. Maybe it's because the interior gets heat from both its own slot and the empty slot. If you always use both slots then I think this toaster will do, but it's definitely not for me as I only toast one slice of bread at a time most of the time so this toaster burns on the inside and is very light on the outside. i give it back My previous toaster was cheaper and toasted much better with just one slot.
