At first I found it odd that the pin came off the top edge of these earrings and not the middle. But now I understand why. The large central stone "floats"; suspended between the sides of the outer part of the earring. When worn, it moves and shimmers in the light. It's slightly set back from the rest when touching down, but that gives it a lot of depth not visible in the 2D photo. They are very comfortable to wear and don't feel heavy on your body. earlobes in general. They look great with jeans or evening wear. Personally, I'd say they might be too big to wear as multi-hole stud earrings, but they're definitely worth trying. The pins seem to be longer than the other earrings but they don't hit me in the head so they're pretty short!
