wired and away from tv

I spend many hours playing games and my controller dies. I was able to plug in the cable that came with my console and keep playing, but I needed to be closer to the TV and my parents always said it was bad for your eyes to sit too close to the TV. I ordered this and enjoy playing with the controller battery dead and sitting a safe distance from the TV.
