Not hot but warm. When it worked

I thought this pad would change my winter truck start. It was so promising. It seemed to be a reaction to my cold winter starts. So I decided to buy this through Katz because it had 3 prongs, great directions and seemed like the right product for my application when I was setting up an oil pan to heat up the oil on a cold winter. I knew 125 watts isn't much, so I wasn't expecting a warm truck, just better than the world around me. Installation was easy. The instructions were fantastic and easy to follow. The kit includes all the necessary materials except sandpaper for removing paint. I added some zip ties to protect you while riding as two is not enough. The first time I plugged it in about an hour before departure. I climbed under the truck and felt it, not too hot for my bare hand, about what I expected from a 125 watt. Warm, not hot. The next night it was below zero so I decided to give it a try. I pocketed it as I went to bed to see if 8 hours wouldn't be too hard for the little guy. It was. She was just as cold as the rest of the truck. Maybe mine was defective, or maybe I'm not good enough at putting a silicone gasket on a piece of metal. In any case, I would advise against using this pad for heating. Well, if you are looking for snake oil? This is what you need but not the best product for my application of warming liquids.
