NOTE: Received item for free through Vine I write a lot on my iPad for work. The glass structure works well, but when I discovered the existence of these films I had to try. I have quite a bit of experience installing a screen protector and this wasn't my first experience with a screen protector on my iPad but using a frame is always nice so I decided to order one. The movie is awesome but as you can see in the picture I still somehow managed to mess up the setup. THE GOOD: - I love the texture - it definitely makes typing on the iPad more enjoyable. I don't know that "paper" is really the most accurate adjective, but definitely more rubbing and light scratching, which is more like writing on paper versus an all-glass screen. - I did not expect. This is an issue, but all screen functionality is retained for clarity. I had no issues with gestures, touch input etc. after applying the film and even stuck it onto the protective glass already on my iPad (YMMV, the instructions specifically say not to do this). The Apple Pencil worked equally well with or without the film. The anti-glare effect is solid, if not perfect. It definitely improves readability and glare in direct light, although it does have a little sheen. I wasn't expecting all glare to be completely eliminated, so I was perfectly happy with the improvement, but be aware of this and adjust expectations accordingly. - Movie editing is perfect for iPad. Assuming you don't have any trouble with the actual installation like I did (see below) and manage to get the bezel working properly, the film will completely cover your screen, accurately delineating a "notch" at the top. The included instructions were pretty clear. Unfortunately, my application still didn't work. MEH: - This is not a problem with this particular product, but with this type of screen protector in general. Screen clarity WILL degrade: Texture causes light to bend, resulting in a slight blurring effect. This is immediately noticeable once the protective film is on, although you get used to the effect - at least for me - and it becomes less annoying (I watch video content on my iPad and don't find it tiring enough to want to take it with you. Something you note should if you're planning on putting one of these on your iPad.- The included bezel is a mixed bag, I suppose it's better than nothing unless you have a lot of experience putting screen protectors on large ones - although I am Ended had better luck with another similar item that only used stickers to help with alignment. The problem is that the frame isn't very rigid so it doesn't maintain alignment with enough force. Lip" , which is provided by the bezel to keep the film from sliding off the screen, although the corner pieces hold the film in place I suppose that's better than nothing - although not in my case - but something could be improved. BAD:- As mentioned above, the @#$%@# installation is complete. At first I thought I was just being stupid but in fact I think the kit I received was not assembled properly as there was no way to completely remove the protective film from the paper sheet without first removing everything from the frame . As a result, I had to remove the paper film from the frame (with the protective films intact), remove the bottom protective film, and put it back into the frame. This process provided many opportunities for dust to adhere to the film and my screen, resulting in the horrible buildup visible in my shot. I'm still willing to admit that I just screwed it up, but the instructions were pretty clear and I'm not new to applying screen protectors, so I'm wondering if anything in my kit just got screwed up. I ended up taking the film off the next day because I just didn't want to deal with so many blisters and the alternative Revain products are pretty cheap. After a couple of days I managed to stick a similar film almost perfectly without a frame. Obviously I didn't have enough confidence in the product as I bought another one to create my second app instead. take it for what you want If you want to improve your typing skills on an iPad, check out these movies - there are some downsides, but the typing experience is definitely better. Despite the installation issues I still give it 4 stars as the quality of the film is good and judging from other reviews I clearly went wrong with my approach. However, I still didn't have a screen protector and would be disappointed if I paid $16 for the experience. It would be nice if, as is usual with such products, an extra foil was included in case the first attempt was unsuccessful. Don't repeat my mistake - read the instructions carefully!
