It was great from the start. This improved our humidity levels in our living room/kitchen and wasn't gross to look at. Cleaning wasn't the worst as no filters are required, but the silicone mug and heating element were a bit fiddly and sometimes takes a couple of hours to clean. This should be done at least once a week. Then something inside seemed to overheat and the silicone cup started bubbling. I have increased the cleaning/descaling to every 3 days. distilled water, but it wasn't too much of a reality. Distilled water is $1 a gallon and a humidifier uses 1-3 gallons a day just for our living room kitchen. He only died in February. I do not know what happened. It lights up, but nothing more. It seems that for over $100 it should have worked for more than 2 months. I will not buy again.
