Within 2 weeks of purchase one of the bolts broke and the latch came loose while driving. I put it back together, blaming myself for not tightening the screws, and moved on. After this incident it became obvious that these locks were not good. While they look nice and the metal is strong, there is a cheap piece of rubber that should hold the latch securely. However, this tiny piece of rubber is very sensitive to rubber. When cold it becomes very hard and doesn't fit where it should. When hot, the rubber becomes very soft and difficult to close. This made the rubber brittle and eventually broke rendering the latch unusable for 1 year.
