Beautiful colours, creamy and easy to use. Multiple effects are achieved using the included white optional colorless filler and Shiva Richeson Oil Plate Blender. The washing effect with odorless white spirit is excellent. The colors are bright, pigmented and easy to blend. This set contains the following colors: White, Neapolitan Yellow, Ocher Yellow, Pale Orange, Salmon Pink, Olive Brown, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Brown, Van Dyke Brown, Sepia and Black. I've included sample images from my album for reference. To the left of the swatch, I added white from the set. On the right I used a color expander from the same line that I bought separately. It was easy to work with them. I didn't have to press hard to move the pastel back and forth across the page for even coverage. The extender blended colors effortlessly and with a lovely creamy finish. The second image I've included shows a larger image of the ease of blending using Expressionist Colorless Blender, Shiva Blender, a well-placed finger pad, and vinyl. Eraser. Sakura Cray-Pas has three levels of oil pastels: Junior Artist (student, academic/beginner pastel) Expressionist (serious beginner, bordering artist level) Specialist (artist level) *** They all go together and interact well with each other. You can buy Expressionist and Specialty Pastels separately at some art stores. If you don't have a specific color, you can purchase that color separately. Dick Bleek (.com) allows this. I am very happy to have this in my art supply. I would recommend them to a friend, fellow artist, or gift them to a high school/college student. And I would buy them again.
