Review on πŸͺ΅ Wood Trick Wooden Model Build: Experience the Art of Craftsmanship by Jeremy Byard

The beauty of this model lies in its assembly.

I bought this model to pass the time. He did this and more! This model has several complex nodes. The two gears (one front and one rear) must be carefully ground, tolerance checked and matched to ensure smooth operation. I ended up using CA+ superglue on the mating surfaces of the moving parts and then sanding with 240 grit to remove any roughness. I would also recommend using a dry graphite lubricant on all contacting surfaces of moving parts. The engine assembly took a while because I hardened the wooden surfaces with CA+, built the crankpins from scrap wood and then sanded them down. I also glued each rod together (on the crank), sanded and made it move smoothly. I recommend CA/CA+ CA+ superglue, a sanding block, various round objects that can be used as sanding blocks, and 180-400 grit sandpaper. The toothpicks provided are of poor quality and made of wood. I went to the supermarket and got round bamboo toothpicks (higher quality and very durable). Overall, I spent more than 30 hours on this model. The joy of this model lies in its assembly and the satisfaction of a job well done once it is completed. Now it sits on a shelf and is a nice topic of conversation. * If you plan to assemble this model during the day and then play with it, you will be very disappointed. *
