Portable and protects you from the sun

I have just arrived at the Riviera golf course from the Northern Trust Open and used this umbrella when it got very sunny and hot. I shaded myself and my daughter all day and even when it was windy it held up great and didn't tip over. ADVANTAGES: 1. Ultra-portable - it's so small I can even put it in my pocket.2. Blocks the sun - keeps heat out, keeps you cool and protects against harmful UV rays.3. Sturdy - The build design is very solid and doesn't look cheap.4. Quick open - just push the…

Might be ok but two caveats to note

This is the only UV protected cooling screen I've tried and didn't know what to expect. It seems to make little difference when you use it for outdoor walks in Arizona on a 110-degree summer day. It seemed to keep me running 10 minutes longer than usual. I have a lot of issues with heat, maybe someone will find an umbrella more effective. A word of caution for everyone - all of the weight of this umbrella is on the central stem/handle making it difficult to hold and also difficult to balance…

I have tiny holes after two days of wearing!

Also, it came earlier than expected. On the second day of use, I noticed that the umbrella frame had left tiny holes in the material. They could be seen on the outer fabric. I find that the fabric used is very thin and the pole frame is sharp creating those tiny holes in the material. I think it's about how the umbrella opens and closes. He literally shoots it open and closed with a button. I used to have a lot of umbrellas. This is the first to open and close so quickly (causes the frame to…

Completely covered from the sun

The first one was sent broken. After trying another brand and noting that their dome still lets in a lot of light, I decided to try another. So I ordered it again and was happy to find a medium size, slightly larger (I don't notice a size difference when I use it) but without the compact crease. I was hoping that a simpler locking mechanism would wear better. So I bought two of these, a small compact and a medium. (They also make a golf umbrella which I haven't tried). I've been using both for…

Works really well - Folding umbrellas

Bought for a trip to Peru. The sun burns down there at high altitudes and gets so hot. Tour guides are notorious for having long chats in the sun about sights, history, etc. This kept me in the shade and cooled me down. Passengers kept asking to stand under it with me, and since it's big enough for two, I allowed them. I bought the compact size. Small enough to fit in my medium-sized Ameribag, but thicker in diameter than, say, a Totes-type umbrella. Still comfortable to hold in one hand. Use…

Worth the money and works as advertised.

Yes, it works, and yes, I think it costs 4 times more than a normal umbrella. I tried using a regular umbrella but found I got quite a bit of heat from the direct rays. This is because the fabric absorbs heat from direct rays and then re-radiates it in the shade of an umbrella (I have a bachelor's degree in physics and am a licensed engineer and I have studied and applied these thermodynamic principles in my lineage). Work). I was looking for an umbrella with a reflective surface as this would…

I like it, but not yet perfect

Overall I am very happy with this umbrella. I've been walking around Tokyo and with this umbrella I was much cooler and sweating a lot less than usual. I've never used any other umbrella so I can't tell you exactly how different it is but when I saw other people walking around with umbrellas , I noticed the sun coming through their umbrellas, but mine was completely covered. Parts I didn't like. When rolled up, the umbrella is very thick and a little heavy. I didn't mind carrying it with me. It
