Got the job done without even scratching

I'm tearing old soft tiles from hardwood in a 100+ year old Victorian house. A nudge under the tile (glued directly to the floor) causes the tile to come loose in pretty chunks with no scraping required, which I attribute to the simple and solid construction. Tiles glued to wood were covered with carpet glued directly to the floor. Tile. The design of this scraper allowed me not to damage the hardwood, so although sanding would be required to remove the top layer of soil, deep scratches shouldn't be. I also removed the parquet, which was also heavily glued directly to the parquet floorboard in another part of the room. I started with the same method, which didn't work as well, and with a bit of ground digging. By hitting the parquet with some heat with a hair dryer, I can easily take out a few blocks. I didn't expect it to work so well. I was fully expecting to use a rubber mallet, but a simple push made it possible. Due to the shape of the non-working end of the tool, I'm not sure if a hammer is universally recommended.
