What I liked about this children's gate is that it is very easy to install, just push it against the wall. The gate opens in both directions (another PLUS) but my gate doesn't close automatically? This can be good or bad depending on where and what you bought the gate for. It was great for my needs, I needed one I could lift and move around without damaging the walls as what I needed would often change depending on what part of the house I was working in. I have a puppy that refuses to go potty so this helps me limit her movements. I am very satisfied with this product.
