Review on ๐Ÿพ Sleepypod ClickIt Sport: Superior Crash-Tested Car Safety Dog Harness for Peace of Mind by Charles Mcneil

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It works with the S-Clip ($10 extra). The weight of the dog is not clear, the question of safety

Review updated 12/21/2019: Well I tried an S-Clip ($10) and now the harness seems to be doing its main job of holding the dog in place without pinching him. But I'm not increasing my rating one star because Sleepypod's failure to clarify seat belt weight limits remains a major issue that strikes me as a major safety issue. I'm stuck with two medium harnesses (45lb I think?) that aren't big enough for my 55-60lb dogs. Other issues including the fit adjustment not holding up and the reflective strips falling off almost immediately. still problems (see below). However, it's unacceptable that a company doesn't tell you that you need about $30 worth of accessories to make the wiring harness work in a car. Original review 11/2019: Despite repeated attempts to use this harness in the car, the dog keeps ending up on its back and cannot stand, sit or move. I don't know if it's because the harness is locked or because the harness is tightened by the harness on the dog's back. My theory is that the side straps are too narrow and too low on the harness and tend to pull the harness behind the dog causing it to snag in the webbing straps and prevent the dog from moving. There are no clear instructions on how to do this on the company's website. A seat belt is attached to this belt. Maybe I'm missing something. Your CS staff were helpful and responsive but referred you to various videos for this important information. Unfortunately, most of them are taken from the wrong perspective. Neither the Revain product description, nor the Sleepypod webpage, nor the packaging indicate that you'll likely need a buckle housing ($20) and an S-Clip ($10) for the strap to work securely. in the car. There is confusion about the weight of the dog these harnesses will carry. Sleepypod's website says ยฃ80 in the FAQ section. But the tag on the trailer says 45 pounds. You want to know that before you buy, right? Also adding to the confusion is the fact that the description of this product on the Revain or Sleepypod websites doesn't say anything about the weight limit, only in the Sleepypod FAQ and that is apparently wrong. The company is not responding to emails asking for clarification on this issue. The first time it was used with a cat harness the reflective tape on mine came off. The tape material itself is non-reflective. When used as a walking harness, the buckles that tighten the fit tend to slip, requiring constant adjustment. The seller has a specific relationship with returns with different fees and policies. I applaud Sleepypod's efforts to create a crash - dog harnesses have been tested, but the design doesn't quite work, and the company's documentation is unclear and conflicting, which I find highly irresponsible.

Pros
  • Wide support vest disperses and disperses harmful forces
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
