We run two Winix air purifiers on our glass porch when we're there. After buying the "Best" and being extremely disappointed, I ordered the first Winix for less than a third of the price of the "Best". We have a local cigar smoker here so the ineffective cleaner left me choking and smelling like a tavern. Doesn't matter! How I wish we had started with a Winix or two! We were so impressed that I immediately ordered another one for the other end of the room (where I am sitting). Of course, filters need to be changed more frequently than in a non-smoking room. Having two - their signature set would be expensive. This kit comes with a (non-washable) paper filter and a charcoal pre-filter, but not the original clear, washable pre-filter. When I smell smoke on the porch, I wash my fores and fores and we're out in the fresh air again. When the paper filter turns brown, it's time to reorder. Tip: Keep the activated carbon pre-filter if you wash your current pre-filter as you should not put it back wet. A lot of coal dust goes down the drain the first time you wash it - after rinsing it out without a black tint, it smells like new. It would be great if you could wash the paper filter, but then I don't think it would be a HEPA filter. When I write reviews I try to be honest about whether I would buy an item again if for some reason it stopped working. I would buy a Winix (a model with a remote control that works on any number of devices) and these filters at a discount.
