Highlight when reversing. Just like changing a lightbulb. I installed them as an upgrade on my wife's car when I had already removed the housing to replace a failed brake light. A very simple security update. Open the tailgate and locate the lamp housing (clear lenses on the back of the car). There are 2 black Phillips screws on the inside edge of the case. Take it off and take the body straight out of the car, stand straight on the back and pull it towards you until it pops out. Then it's as easy as removing an old lightbulb and replacing it with this LED. Check. Make sure it works. Step back and ask a friend to start the car and apply the electronic brake. Then engage reverse gear, the LEDs must light up. Turn off the car. If that doesn't work, you may need to put them in the opposite direction in your car - I haven't had this problem. If it works, reset everything by doing the steps in reverse order. Slide the case straight back and replace the screws. Did. 5 minutes, easy. See everything behind you when reversing. No flickering, no CAN-BUS errors, no adapters/resistors required, just plug and play on 2011 Land Rover LR2. I can only recommend this car.
