Review on πŸ“½οΈ InFocus IN24 DLP Projector: High-Performance Display Solution for Unmatched Presentations by Andy Tran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not a home cinema projector, but can be used as such.

First of all I would give this projector 4 stars for home theater use. I gave it a 5 because it's a business projector and can't be penalized for not having home theater capabilities. I am very satisfied with this product. Out of the box the colors were a mess. Again, this may be because it's not calibrated as a home theater projector. I highly recommend using the Avia video calibration DVD (with color filters to view). Took me 5 minutes and the colors are more natural than any of my CRT TVs! In high power mode, I can watch TV with the curtains closed during the day. Movies are a little hard to watch. Once the sun is off that side of my house it works great. At night I can watch a movie on the power saving mode (and the fan is very quiet) but I prefer the normal mode as the colors look more vivid with an extra boost. I sit with my head about 12 inches from the projector so I can hear the fan, but it's imperceptible when the sound system's speakers are at a decent volume. As mentioned in the previous review, the picture has an aspect ratio of 4:3. If you don't have a 4:3 screen, 4:3 images will not fit. This is not the projector's fault. I'm most worried about the connectivity, again due to the fact that this isn't really a home theater projector. A component connection should be used for the best image. As mentioned in the previous test, to connect the component via the VGA connector, the adapter must be purchased separately. This was not listed on the datasheet where I purchased this item and there is NO specification information on the packaging itself. Another thing to look out for. I've read that the color wheels on business projectors are different than those on home theater projectors. I'm not familiar enough with it to comment, but it's something potential buyers should check out. Overall I am very satisfied with this product. 5/5 as an overall product, 4/5 as a home cinema projector.
