I once wanted a portable player that I could use to digitize my stack of vinyl records, but always decided to wait for something more user-friendly to come along. Well I just found and received a suitcase containing a Feir belt drive stereo today and I couldn't wait to take it out of the box and try it on. First of all it was packaged so well that there was not a scratch and the box was a little worn along the way. I installed it in about two minutes with no instructions as you just plug the USB cable into your computer or power adapter. I have a lot of 45 records, so I started with those. It has a protective white plastic cover that easily attaches and detaches from the stylus needle and a hook that holds the stylus pen for added protection. In addition, there is a switch that raises and lowers the pen grip to avoid scratching the vinyl surface. I was very happy with the dedicated adapter slot inside the 45 case so you never lose it. It plays 45, 33 and 78 records and has a selector for all and an on/off switch for auto-stop recording through playback. The minimum/maximum is illuminated by a red power indicator when switched on, and just below is an auxiliary input for input from smartphones or a home stereo system. Almost everything is marked with white letters, the rest is embossed with plastic. The body itself is made of durable wood covered in leather with a tiny embossed pattern and a strong metal clasp with metal guards on each corner, the undersides with short black sturdy legs. Sitting on either side of a convenient carrying handle, the speakers measure 14 x 49 x 10.5 inches and weigh a total of 7.05 pounds. Metal loops on the rear panel are located either side of red and red/white RCA jacks, a headphone jack and a square input jack for power and connection to a computer. It has downloadable software for Mac OS X. Then I found that it came with a software CD (it was in the owner's manual). It downloaded easily on my Windows 10 PC and the instructions on how to install and use the software were easy to follow. You can do so many things with Audacity software including record vinyl to your computer, edit, name a track, export as wav or mp3, import midi, boost or boost bass, raw with simple cut/copy/paste . , pitch bend, speed and tempo, compressor, echo, decay, and even a printout view of the main window with tracks and waveforms, plus too many other options to mention. You can't go wrong with this turntable, it's both stylish and affordable, a great purchase backed by Revain's return policy with an instant $5 coupon, 12 month warranty and customer service available if needed. You can select a 4-year protection plan for $8.32 at checkout.
