Review on πŸ“· Dohonest S4 Wireless Backup Camera Rear View Mirror: HD 1080P Bluetooth Monitor for Truck, Car, and RV - Easy DIY Installation, No Drilling Required! by Samuel Blakeley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An inexpensive, unobtrusive solution for a rearview trailer.

So I wanted a camera that could see behind my trailer while driving, preferably one that would work where my current rear-view mirror is without having to add another monitor to my truck. I already have a big screen with GPS etc and don't want to clutter my car. Also, I don't need a front camera and recording capabilities like some of the expensive, multi-hundred-dollar options. This camera attaches to a pre-installed Furrion mount on the back of my RV and sends a wireless signal to a display attached to my existing rear view. When not towing, I stow the display with the trailer with no fuss or fuss. I had a few minor issues which I deducted a star for. First I had to manually drill a larger hole in the mounting bracket to pass the cable through as the small hole was too small for the cable and without the hole the cable didn't fit properly when I tried to mount the Furrion bracket. But once done, it works flawlessly. Another (and more important) issue is that while the camera works great during the day with absolutely no shake (about 45 feet from camera to display), car headlights are pretty blurry at night. This means that the cars appear as a big white spot on the display. Not sure if the display can be set for night vision, will experiment with that next time I travel. But since almost all of my trips took place during the day, it didn't particularly affect me. Customer service was also very helpful. They provided a free trailer mount camera (I don't use the license mount camera that came with the product) and I purchased a separate mount to mount to my pre-assembled Furrion mount. I had a month or two before I actually had the opportunity to use the camera on the go, which delayed writing this review. Anyway - for those who have a trailer and want to see behind it, look in the rear view mirror without spending a lot of money, or put a display in your car, or get additional unnecessary functions like a front view camera, etc. D. is a great option.
