Review on πŸ‹οΈ iFit SmartBeat Heart Rate Monitor for the Forearm by Amanda Castillo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Effective but wish it was better

Good: Does what it's advertised to do and does it well. It holds quite well on my hand, both top and bottom. It appears to be very accurate at measuring heart rate and reacts sharply to small changes in heart rate. It connects to my x22i treadmill quickly and efficiently. Poor/Could Be Improved: The user manual is extremely inadequate in explaining how to wear the item; It took me a few practice sessions to figure out how to position the monitor correctly (and to be honest, I'm still not sure I'm doing it right). I wish it could just connect to more devices like my phone so I can use it with my other fitness apps or smartwatches. It doesn't even connect to my iFit app on my phone (and no specific instructions on how to do that in the manual). As I said above, it usually holds my hand well, but I wish it stayed a little better - I have to quickly adjust it at least 3-4 times in a 40 minute workout and always get anxious. that I will reset the calibration of the monitor and make my subsequent readings less accurate. (Again, I wish the manual said more about how to put on and wear the monitor, and that these better instructions covered those topics better too.) I finally got it as a gift, but the price seems too high.
