I bought this trimmer when my fourth Wahl heavy duty trimmer died of old age. I bought this to last until I bought another big hair clipper - I wasn't expecting much but gosh it blew me away. I use hair clippers every day. These haircuts were painful and painful at the barber's when they got just as tight at home. NOT WITH THIS. First, it's almost silent. On the first two passes it cut tighter than any clippers I've ever owned and I barely squeezed. Spots on the back of the head that are usually chewed up by big clippers - no problem, cut real close without biting me. I actually wanted to make him bite, but he didn't want to. In fact, my 5 hour shadows were almost on par with razor/shaving cream. Very impressive. hope it lasts
