Review on Morris 70010 SPST Brass Chain by Joyce Wright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Delivery 2 days on Sunday!

The switch costs a whopping $2 plus change, a mile more than local hardware stores and even large retail outlets. Added to this was the two-day Prime shipping, which in the past always referred to traditional working days. I ordered this item on Friday and expected it to be delivered on Monday, even though Anazon's automated system said it would be delivered on Sunday. So imagine how impressed I was when I heard the mailbox rumble on my doorstep early on a Sunday afternoon. I went out, looked in the mailbox and there was my package! Unprecedented. The quality appears to be on par with an original Hunter part. My only comment is that the brass trim pieces that come with the replacement switch are not designed to be threaded on both ends to act as a connector to support additional items hanging underneath, such as a lamp. B. a lampshade/dome for the fan lamp accessories. I don't recall seeing the spec for this in any online listing one way or another, but it's pretty obvious if you look closely enough at the attached product photo. Therefore, I feel compelled to attribute this dissatisfaction to customers' ignorance of the details to pay attention to, rather than blaming the product or seller. A fairly simple fix: I was able to replace it with an original brass piece from a previously defunct Hunter switch. So cheer up for other noobs like me! Don't throw anything away until the job is done. Or you dig through the garbage after realizing your mistake. Otherwise I've replaced a faulty switch in a ceiling fan in just a few minutes and - after a few weeks of regular use - the new part seems to be doing the job well. .
