Review on BOSCARE Electric Kettle: Stainless Steel 1.7L Pour Over Coffee and Tea Pot - Auto Shut Off & Boil-Dry Protection by Sara Rocha

Boscare kettle has design flaws

I am returning the Boscare 1.7 liter kettle without using it. Upon closer examination of the kettle upon opening, I found that the tea diffuser assembly is permanently attached and while the 'basket' may or may not be removable, the stem and plastic lid of the basket remain attached. The diffuser basket itself does NOT attach securely to the top, it only has three friction "bulges" that easily hold the basket in place. It can easily come off and make a mess. While I occasionally use a diffuser, I use the kettle primarily for boiling water and don't want to struggle with the diffuser stem and lid when they're not needed. I also don't like that the drain filter is made of plastic. I bought another brand that is all stainless steel. The few reviews of this product are, in my opinion, overly optimistic and do not reflect all the pros and cons. After all, I'll be using this kettle every day for years, and I want to buy something with no regrets. It costs a few extra dollars. I will try the HadinEEon kettle. I'll review it as soon as I receive it and be able to use it for a couple of weeks.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other alternatives
