Review on πŸ“± Surfans Kids Tablet - 7 inch, 1200x1920 IPS, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, WiFi Android Tablet for Kids with Kid-Proof Case by Matt Buchanan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good for kids, good for basic play and use, don't expect it to be lightning fast.

This tablet is a regular tablet for a kid, but I didn't expect it to be lightning fast. It's quite slow in my opinion due to limited resources, only two GB of RAM. It still gets the job done, which is basic usage, and can run most kid's games fairly well, but switching between apps can be a bit slow (my niece doesn't really notice). This tablet is about the size of a standard 7 inch tablet and is a fairly light tablet. It's a bit thicker, but that's okay as it's meant to protect the tablet from falls and the like. Pink I would say is quite light and gets dirty quite easily. I would recommend just wiping it down every few days. I would say it looks like a tablet, like a leapfrog. It has a camera and the thick body makes lighting a bit difficult when taking pictures, but it works. Also, this area is harder to scratch. It can work like a regular Android tablet if you want it to grow with your child. Unfortunately, the Android tablet can be a bit slow. It's not completely unusable, but at least you have the option of using the Android operating system. The tablet will automatically boot into Android for setup. The Android interface is almost the same as the completely updated Nexus 7 tablet. I would recommend deleting as many unnecessary applications as possible from the tablet in order to improve the device's performance. Usually I have to remove it from the App Store. I wouldn't say it compares to more expensive tablets, but it works for kids. The screen appears to be fairly slick, which means it will pick up fingerprints. Battery life is ok. It doesn't expire as quickly as many other baby pills I've tried. I have calibrated the battery as best as I can. It is used for eight hours. In standby mode, it needs to be charged every two to three nights. Next is the kids app. There's an app that pretty much turns a tablet into a tablet for kids. Parents have full control over this, right down to setting a password so no one can close the app. It will automatically download and open in the app. The app is very smooth and works very well. Actually, I was very impressed with this app. I would say that depending on the game or application it can be a bit difficult. Even as an adult, I had some issues with some of these games because they required solving something in under two or three seconds that would be extremely difficult for a child. Other than that, it was like two of several applications. I really wish they could put YouTube kids in the app so the kids have access to it. You actually have to exit the app to access YouTube Kids and I wish the app could be opened from the kids app. There are several games from math to basic shapes. Everything has a tier and most of them are free, although I've seen a few that require you to pay. The sound quality is okay. The case is quite thick and there is a very solid stand on the back so it can be tilted if needed. The stand is adjustable. Overall I think this device is perfect for the price and use. If you're looking for a good tablet that you have more control over and that gives your child a ton of different learning tools, this will work. It will grow with you, and eventually you can easily turn it into a regular Android tablet, although it's not the most responsive tablet. The truth lags behind. It runs the main applications but doesn't require any RAM as it's only 2GB. 32 GB of memory is more than enough for the needs of most children's applications. Multiple videos can also be saved if required. The design of the tablet is very beautiful and the touch response of the screen is actually quite strong compared to other tablets. Pretty good investment, but as always, try to limit the time your child spends on a tablet.
