Is a piece of 28 gauge wire really that expensive?
I can't think of any reason other than to save a few cents for just fitting that short length of connecting cable. No device that normally uses this fan is only 4 inches. You must have at least 1 meter or 3 feet of connecting cable. To make matters worse, the fan cannot be readily disassembled to solder your own. I have no choice but to connect the wire and extend it to the desired length. Bugs live in me!
