As we only received this item 2 days ago we still don't know exactly how much water you need to use to make a round ball but overall I am moderately satisfied. We're not as happy with this model as the previous ice ball mold we've used because it doesn't snap into place, you just have to place it on a perfectly flat surface and let gravity from above hold the shape. on site. Although these ice balls are easier to achieve because the shape is flexible. I'm not sure I prefer this flexible form to our old hard plastic form. UPDATE: I'm less happy with this product now than I was a little over a week ago when it first came out. We still have to make the balls round, not curved. We regularly find ourselves with water on our counters, either because filling to the 'fill line' is actually too much, or because the flexibility of the shape makes it easier to spill. The balls come out of this mold VERY easily which is one of the best things about this product compared to the last one we had which was hard plastic and snapped open. I'm pretty sure I won't buy this product again.
