Review on Universal Air Conditioner EX 10514C by Cesar Cook

Great solution for storing the package - oops, whatever! (see test report)

The air conditioning on my wife's ML320 no longer worked - at 250,000 miles I don't think it owes anyone anything. The kidnappers would happily replace the compressor for who knows how much $$$$ and this valve is all they need. Quickly switch, suck and charge and it blows very cold air again. The only difference is that the old one had a fine mesh screen over the valve holes. It's not like this. Time will tell if this is a bad oversight. UPDATE: Well, now that it's been a day cooler, I've found a problem with this valve and why it was blowing "super cold" air for me. This problem is that the A/C compressor runs at full power all the time. Even when the "AC" mode is off, this valve forces the compressor to remain fully on. Even if the HVAC control is disabled. Requesting a Refund. UPDATE FOR UPDATE: Now that I was finally able to remove the valve we understand why it was commanding the compressor to run at full capacity. They used cheap Chinese O-rings. I can't count the number of times I've had problems with these o-rings failing over the past 15 years, usually shortly after installation. This allowed the inlet and outlet sides of the valve to leak, pushing the compressor to full capacity. As a result, the compressor seized and failed and had to be replaced. At my expense, of course. So do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this junk.
