I would not recommend this mouthpiece for sparring.
It will do the trick. As someone who has previously trained mixed martial arts I would not recommend this mouthpiece for sparring but a BJJ will do. I got this specifically as a hot corner infielder in a competitive men's softball league and it probably won't stop my lip from cracking (maybe even make it worse because it's so tough), but it should save some teeth. It was very easy to get a good fit the first time, so it was nice.
